Neopets (1999) defined the browser pet site: adopt pets, play, collect and trade in a shared world. If you miss that feeling, these browser games still offer it. We make one of them, so we have tried to be fair to all.
Fish of Ganymede
A free online fish breeding game set in the ocean under Ganymede’s ice. Instead of adopting one pet, you collect and breed a whole deep of alien fish, each grown from its own genome and drawn in 3D. There is a player-run market with escrow, stud services, trades, a weekly fish show and a species book where the first breeder of each species is credited forever.
