Market and trading

Listings, auctions, buy orders, studs, direct trades, daily buyers and merchant ranks.

Every sale or trade is held safely by the game until both sides are done (escrow), so nobody has to “send first”. The market keeps 5% of every sale, stud fee and credits in a trade (2.5% for members; the Trade office upgrade lowers it).

How it works
ListingsSet a price (5+ credits). Up to 10 at once.
Auctions24, 48, 72 hours. A bid in the last 5 minutes moves the end back, so nobody wins by sniping. Each bid beats the last by 5 credits or 5%, whichever is more.
Buy orders“This much for any fish of species X.” Your credits are held for 7 days or until someone sells you one.
Stud servicesOthers pay your fee to breed with your fish and keep the eggs; up to 6 a day.
Direct tradesFish and credits on both sides (up to 3 fish each), with counter offers. Offers expire after 24 hours.
Daily buyers3 game buyers a day, each paying a fixed amount for a fish with a certain trait (common 90, uncommon 170, rare 320, epic 750, legendary 1,700).

New accounts can buy or list only a few times a day for their first 3 days, to keep the market safe from throwaway accounts.

Release value

Releasing a fish back into the wild pays common 40, uncommon 80, rare 160, epic 400, legendary 1,000 credits.
